Anyone looking for an off the beaten path true Costa Rica experience would really enjoy this place! The owner and his family live next door and provided us with a tour of the property, highlighting the verity of plants they grow, including 3 types of coconuts, several types of bananas, vanilla, cacao, sugar cane, wild ginger, turmeric, and several types of fruits. The best part is, we got to sample all the freshly grown products that were in season while we were there. They also offer delicious traditional homemade meals using locally sourced ingredients for a very reasonable price, which I highly recommend! While the house itself is off a remote dirt road, it is only about a 15 minute drive to Playa Carrillo beach, which in our opinion, was one of the best beaches we've been to. There is also an amazing little restaurant, Restaurante El Dorado, off the same dirt road as the house. Note, if going to El Dorado for dinner, be sure to stop in during to day to make sure they will be open that night since the woman who owns the restaurant literally runs the restaurant by herself. Everything about the house and experience far exceeded our expectations! The house itself is very clean and modern while fitting perfectly into the beautiful natural surroundings. If you're looking for a party house or touristy area experience, this is not the place for you. However, if you're looking to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Costa Rica, and experience the authentic local culture an delicious traditional food, this house is perfect!

The location was a short drive but I would not recommend it at all if you have to walk. It was super clean and 2/3 rooms had AC. Good wifi and great size kitchen. The host was friendly, very responsive and she went above and beyond for my comfort

This was a lovely property, away from the hustle and bustle of Samara, but still very close to town for access to services and the amazing beaches.

Wow! I would highly recommend this stay. Gail’s home was a welcoming, comfortable space and her happy personality and care made it extra special. The space is absolutely gorgeous and has all that you need. It has gorgeous wood, a queen and a twin bed in the main house, large fridge, stove, toaster oven, blender, and more. She has a large, private yard with several fruit trees and several hanging seats on the porch, as well as a full lounge area where we spent many happy hours chatting and enjoying the yard. There is also a second-floor deck with a beautiful view and a great place for doing yoga or chatting in the swinging chairs. In the early mornings, you even hear howler monkeys in the trees! (They are not loud.) Gail goes above and beyond to make it a peaceful and pleasant experience for her guests. She is a great communicator and answered all of our questions and even anticipated some of our needs we did not yet know we had. 😊 She has beach towels, a first aid kit, etc. in addition to great linens and pillows and comfy beds. The neighborhood where the house is located is close to Playa Carillo. It has a gate and private access. I took the local bus several times and it was easy if you do not have car transport. In addition to being close to Playa Carrillo, it is close to Playa Samara as well. The beaches are fabulous and so peaceful! Truly unspoiled areas. I can’t wait to go back and get some more of that peace and joy and abundant nature! Thank you, Gail!
