Cottages in Lahti

This is an amazing property and we would stay there anytime we are in this area of Finland. The hosts were so helpful and communicated very well. The property itself is spacious and in a perfect location right on the lake. We used the sauna which was great. The property is very quiet so sleeping was excellent. We hiked both days and it was a short distance to the hiking areas and the city of Lahti. We have stayed in similar properties all over Europe and this is one of the very best.

The house was charming and comfortable. It was warm and cozy and the kitchen was filled with everything I needed to cook with. The sauna was a great treat after skiing. The area is quiet and we enjoyed walking around the neighborhood. I would definitely stay there again. The hosts are wonderful.

The cottages are in a perfect location if you want to get away from the world. The area is relatively quiet and isolated from people. Lots of beds between the two cottages - there were 6 (2 adults, 2 teenagers, and 2 kids) of us, and the place could have easily fit 4-6 more people. Many of the appliances were modern, the outhouse was clean, and drinkable water was provided. The beach featured beautiful sunsets, and the night sky was amazing! Lots of puzzles and games for the family, a lovely summer kitchen with a gas grill and a fire pit. Plenty of wood available, unlike some other places we've stayed. The wood sauna is also a nice feature, though it took us a bit to figure out how to get it hot enough for my husband's liking. The owners are also very friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a taste of the Finnish mökki experience with some modern conveniences, this is the perfect place. We had access to a boat so that we could have paddled around the lake, but didn't; however, this could be a good location for kayakers or canoers if you want to bring your own.
