Cottages in Shimo-dachiyuuridōri

We loved this place. It’s clean, roomy and comfortable. It also close to bus stops and grocery stores. Staff are very helpful too. We will recommend this place to our friends

Quiet and comfortable traditional machiya. Good A/C and amenities and a nice big bath for soaking.

The small traditional house, with tatami flooring and a private onsen, is loved by my daughters.

Absolutely loved the character and charm of the hotel, the facilities, the lounge area for breakfast/evening drinks, ease of use of the washer/dryer that was there. The hotel was in a quiet residential section of Kyoto, yet access to Nijo Castle, the Imperial Palace and downtown Kyoto was very easy and within a 15 minute walk. Access to the train stations and Uber/Taxi's were equally easy. Amazing local restaurants within walking distance of the Hotel - highly recommend Daigan around the corner for an amazing sushi with an engaging/entertaining/welcoming chef.

Kind owner, clean space in traditional design, good location

We had two lovely welcoming hosts meet us at the property. It was a fun and welcoming meet up! We loved going to the Life super market down the street, picking up delicious food and cooking in this beautiful place. Sometimes at the end of the day when traveling it is just better to come back to a comfortable place, experiment with local food and relax. We loved the immediate and friendly response from our hosts.

Great layout, structure, facilities, yard. The bike is very nice!

The house outside looks much nicer than in the pictures. Furniture is very new and modern, I was surprised to see even a very big and new TV. The host is super nice. Surrounding areas have many good restaurants with local people not crowded with tourists. A good place to stay.

We LOVED our stay here in Kyoto! Our family stayed for a week in this home and absolutely adored the neighborhood location and charm! The host is the sweetest woman and very responsive. We enjoyed wandering the streets and finding small shops and cafes tucked around every corner. The location is super-convenient to bus and metro lines as well as several grocery stores. At the end of our week here, our teenage kids were begging us not to leave, we all loved it so, so, much!

Spacious as stated with a tea room as well. 2 toilets were useful for the 4 of us that stayed for 5 days. Kitchen had all the utensils required and bathroom and washroom is very well appointed. House is very well maintained and in a lovely suburban neighborhood which is quiet and peaceful. This is a lovely house. Kenichi was a very gracious and accommodating host who helped us check in and gave us useful instructions and tips. The bus stop is about 5 minutes away and you have to use the buses to go to the main hotspots in Kyoto.
