Excellent view + excellent dinner / breakfast

This was our favorite rental during our stay in Norway. The location was absolutely stunning, and the ferry ride was spectacular. Bright, spacious home. Very comfortable and cozy. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking our own meals. The host was welcoming and kind and gave us homemade pastries. We did a fun snowshoeing hike from Svensby Tursenter down the road - one of the highlights of our trip to Norway. Our guide runs the coffee shop at the ferry station. Great coffee and homemade muffins!

Wonderful place, excellent location, great host. We loved time spent there. House is well equipped with everything you might need during your stay. Excellent location for Northern Lights hunting.

We stayed with 4 adults for 5 days. A beautifully decorated and clean place, we felt welcome from the first moment. We spent quite some time in the cabin as our trip was during the arctic nights and it was always warm and cozy. The kitchen is very well equipped. The bathroom is also very nice and warm. The highlight were the hosts, who are extremely helpful. Our car got miserably stuck in the snow and the host towed us with his tractor. Another highlight was the location: close to winter walks, husky rides and much more. And: we could see northern lights from the backyard! We will be back for sure, thank you for everything!!!

First thing to know, you absolutely need a car to travel and organise around staying here. It is remote (nearest and only supermarket on the island is 40 min away), but that is one thing my wife and I really loved about it. That info aside, the house is a self-organized traveler's dream. One can see that it was built with a "no-expenses-spared mentality", really for someone to feel cozy here. The centerpiece is the second floor, where the living area, kitchen and terrace are. The magnificent fjord view extends from the yard, into the terrace, living room, TV nook, and even in the bathroom and sauna (yes you get a nice fjord view even in the private sauna). By the way, there are 3 baths, all with showers and floor heating. The kitchen is fully equipped, there is not one thing we wanted and was missing, including stove, oven, dishwasher. There is even a big refrigerated room in case large groups want to spend some time here. Best of all, the exact spot of this place is very quiet and away from a big city (little to no light pollution meant that we could enjoy seeing the northern lights simply from the terrace/yard/living room of the house). The house is maybe 30m away from the road that passes through the village, but there is little to no traffic on this road so it simply brings the benefit of being easily connected to the more important road (maybe 2 kms away). The Lyngen Alps are also visible from the road, it makes for a majestic backdrop to the whole cabin's setting and of course gives some opportunity to do some very nice hikes. Though we didn't use it, the house also has a mudroom, with ski/equipment drying racks, so I think it's also really great in the winter and doing XCountry skiing. The house's heating system seems to be electric only (which means energy must be really cheap) As such, the entire house was kept warm quite easily.
