Family hotels and homes in Minca

I was worried we would be too remote from the hub in Minca to really enjoy the area, especially after experiencing the road up to the hostel, but I was wrong. Everything we needed was right there. We were more than happy to hike to all the things we wanted to see but you could just as easily take a moto or 4x4. The food was great. The people were even better. We really didn’t want to leave.

The property is in harmony with nature, in the early morning the hummingbirds come up your bedroom window.

I was very impressed with this place. The owners were so warm and friendly and helpful and genuinely interested in their guests. The room was beyond my expectations! Spacious, comfortable bed with good cotton sheets and a light perfect blanket, table, chairs, plenty of hooks to hang things and even a fridge in the room. It was obvious that the owners care about our comfort. And you have views of the mountains. For the very economical price the value was incredible. And positioned right where you get off the bus in town. The hotel is set back, behind their shop so it was quiet - even with the town celebrating a soccer win! I highly recommend this hotel - one of the best in my long travels.

I loved everything about it! They have great staff (helped me out a lot when I got sick), good breakfast, amazing sunset view, cute dogs, very peaceful yoga "studio", open showers with nice views and a good co-working area. Super recommend it!

The place is amazing and the views are breathtaking! I went with my family and the views, the staff, the place, the food, the pool were excellent. The only bad thing is the road to get there but we had peace and an amazing time while there. We're planning to go back again. We love the weather, just perfect 🫶 the staff was so friendly they they have a wide variety of food in their menu.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Basic amenities but good enough. The views from the property are very nice. The Hotel is very close to Minca town, just 5 min walking (uphill but very doable). The only inconvenience is that you can hear the traffic from the road down the hill. It is quite noisy, even at night. But I always travel with earplugs. ;) the breakfast is very basic but nice. The views from the restaurant are gorgeous! I will come back! PS: I recommend getting a full body massage!!

Super friendly hosts, great views, aircon, friendly style

Had a lovely stay, particularly loved the 3 swimming pools with great views from the top pools. Our room had air con which was very quiet and kept us cool and stopped the room getting damp. Lots of self-guided walking options and also a guided waterfall tour which I enjoyed. The food was also great

Sintropia is a little place of heaven on earth (see pictures). It exceeded our expectations and was the best spot we’ve been to in our 10 day trip to Colombia. Rooms are clean, food is amazing and yes you need an adventurous side to climb up that hill by motortaxi or jeep, but it was so much fun! Luis, Marie and Thomas are great hosts making you feel welcome from the start. It’s amazing to see how they’ve built this place with one simple mission: protect nature at all costs while being organic and sustainable. We recommend this to everyone that would go to Colombia!

Personnel is amazing. The really do their best to make sure your have a good time. Great food and great hospitality. They took their time to talk about different things to do and tours that are around. Definitely hike from the hotel to Marinka waterfalls (or vice versa if you want some good excercise) if you have a chance! Unique experience (tower) in the jungle

El Santuario was the perfect home base for exploring Minca! Nora and José Luis have obviously put a lot of love into their hotel- they were exceptionally kind and provided us with everything we needed during our stay. We split three rooms between 5 friends, which was totally comfortable for us. We started every morning taking in the stunning views while enjoying a delicious home cooked breakfast- the birdwatching is unparalleled to any place I’ve visited before! It’s a quick 10 minute drive to the center of Minca- we had a car, but the hotel will happily arrange a mototaxi for you, which I took advantage of as i chose to stay an extra night after my travel mates departed. We ended our evenings using the ample common areas to sip tequila and reflect on our adventures. The evenings were cool enough that we wouldn’t have used a/c even if it was available. Of course there are some bugs, but what else would you expect staying in a rustic town in the middle of the jungle?? Other reviewers noting this as a con are obviously unused to accommodations that strive to be as ecologically mindful as possible to their natural environments. Lovely little place tucked in the forest, with access to a great viewpoint. The vibe in the hotel is nice. The rooms and simple but clean (although not fully closed off to the outside, in our case). The staff at the restaurant in particular is extremely friendly. We found the proposed food options to be good and not too pricey, and enjoyed our meals. The included breakfast was also nice.

Central location made it easy to explore the town. Surrounded by nature. Very helpful and friendly staff.

The location is up the hills in Minca and is a bumpy ride to get there, but that is to be expected since you are in nature. Our room was big and spacious and we had an amazing view that was a combo of nature and the city of Santa Marta. They had amazing juices and the food was really up to standards. The tours/cleansing ceremonies that we booked through them were really nice and worth it for the money. We did the fire ceremony, ancestral healing massage and cocao tour with waterfall (lot of walking but worth it!). The staff was very friendly and the property was amazing to unwind and relax. Take note that to get to your room you do have to climb some stairs that are made of rocks but it's totally doable, just not your typical hotel, but again you are in nature and its to be expected.

Let’s see. First up is Jazy and her precious kitty, Domino. They were both attentive to my needs. I enjoyed the peacefulness of the surrounding countryside and rain forest. The walk into town, either way, was beautiful, relaxing and enjoyable. The bed was comfortable, table and stools outside my room, outstanding kitchen for the guests, hot tub and pool area awesome

Wow, this place looks incredible for nature lovers! I can totally see myself getting lost in the scenery and just breathing in the fresh air. It seems like the perfect spot to escape the everyday hustle. I'm definitely adding this to my list of places to go again.

It was excellent, the room, the decoration, the view, balcony and the service were amazing, there is a pretty terrace in which you can hang out and relax, we really had a good time and got with us a pretty good memory and experience in this place!

The family who runs this hostel are great, warm people. I stayed a week and loved it. You can see toucans from the terrace before sunset

The staff was super friendly, the food was beyond delicious! Getting to interact with the indigenous communities in such an intimate way was very special! And going to sleep with the sound of the river every day was super magical! Will definitely come back to Hukumeizi Minca.

The location is great, with many restaurants nearby, and very close to bus station. And the host is nice with good communication.
