A charming place with a single house and an out house that houses three rooms in total. With bathrooms and a kitchen. It's a great option for a family or group of 4-6 people looking at booking an entire place. It's inside a village close to Methoni Tea Estate and the place has a very unhurried and a silent comfortable feel to it. The local village market and shops are a 5 min walk away with basic stuff available. The kitchen is well set up to be able to cook all meals if you so desire. You can carry your own stuff or buy from the shops (but don't expect to find fancy stuff there). There are dhabas nearby that do really good food incase you want to order in. The place is run by Avinash and his business partner. Avinash is an excellent host and will take care of all your requests. Be it cooking a meal for you, ordering food or even booking a safari ride in Kaziranga. You'll feel at home with the team and the lovely neighbours nearby. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place incase you are looking at a break from the city and want to switch off. Tip: if you are some one who lives for order-in food and service at the press of a button, this is not your place to visit. But if you like to left alone and do things at your own pace, then a visit to Baahor Ghar is worth the trip. Also, The place is close (5min ride) to the eastern range of Kaziranga which is great for an evening safari ride. However the elephant safari starts at Bagori which is a 30 min ride away. So plan accordingly.

The location is very convenient, just a short walk through a scenic village to the Orchid Garden. The place itself is unique, built in the traditional way using bamboo and mud. The food is freshly prepared, delicious, and comes in generous portions. They also offer authentic local dishes such as bamboo rice, mashed banana, and bamboo shoot dishes. The stay is simple yet full of unexpected delights. The host couple, Chandana and Prabhat, are incredibly friendly and helpful. They have extensive knowledge about local activities, transportation, and the surrounding area and can give you advice that suits your need. If you're looking for a more immersive community experience, this is definitely a place where you get more than what you pay for!
