The location is up the hills in Minca and is a bumpy ride to get there, but that is to be expected since you are in nature. Our room was big and spacious and we had an amazing view that was a combo of nature and the city of Santa Marta. They had amazing juices and the food was really up to standards. The tours/cleansing ceremonies that we booked through them were really nice and worth it for the money. We did the fire ceremony, ancestral healing massage and cocao tour with waterfall (lot of walking but worth it!). The staff was very friendly and the property was amazing to unwind and relax. Take note that to get to your room you do have to climb some stairs that are made of rocks but it's totally doable, just not your typical hotel, but again you are in nature and its to be expected.

El Santuario was the perfect home base for exploring Minca! Nora and José Luis have obviously put a lot of love into their hotel- they were exceptionally kind and provided us with everything we needed during our stay. We split three rooms between 5 friends, which was totally comfortable for us. We started every morning taking in the stunning views while enjoying a delicious home cooked breakfast- the birdwatching is unparalleled to any place I’ve visited before! It’s a quick 10 minute drive to the center of Minca- we had a car, but the hotel will happily arrange a mototaxi for you, which I took advantage of as i chose to stay an extra night after my travel mates departed. We ended our evenings using the ample common areas to sip tequila and reflect on our adventures. The evenings were cool enough that we wouldn’t have used a/c even if it was available. Of course there are some bugs, but what else would you expect staying in a rustic town in the middle of the jungle?? Other reviewers noting this as a con are obviously unused to accommodations that strive to be as ecologically mindful as possible to their natural environments. Everything is clean, great atmosphere,amazing food, beautiful decorations, great Staff. Very friendly . The beach is clean and beautiful , great sunsets. It is easy to mingle around without getting lost inside the hotel. I didn’t use the spa which seem amazing but I am definitely coming back and that will be one of the things I won’t miss. 🥰

Incredible hosts, Laura and her mother, Serbilia, went way above and beyond during our stay. They also made us feel like family! Very comfortable room and bed. Air conditioning! Lovely outdoor spaces to hang out and relax in. Exceptional breakfasts. Great location in a quieter section of town. An easy walk to the town beach and village center.

This was such a lovely stay! The hotel and room were cute, everything was really clean and comfortable. The gym was a great bonus. It's in a great location in the middle of Santa Marta and staff are there 24/7 and helpful.
