Exceptionally clean hotel, even by Japanese standards. Staff was excellent in all aspects. Overall, a high end Onsen hotel that we’re glad we stayed at.

I loved the traditional aspects of the hotel; storing shoes to change into slippers so as not to dirty floors and ruin the tatami. The Japanese breakfast was exceptional! And the staff professional and warm.

Iya Onsen was exceptional – from the attentiveness of the staff, to the onsen itself, to the FOOD. I had several food restrictions, and I was fully expecting an okay meal, but they prepared an incredible, several course meal that ranks in top 10 for best meals I've ever eaten. Every little detail is meticulously thought out. The energy of the mountains and river are incredibly healing and can be felt. An outstanding stay, to say the least.

Featuring a shared lounge, 虎屋別館 is located in Kotohira in the Kagawa region, 20 miles from Kitahamaebisu Shrine and 25 miles from Liminal Air-core Takamatsu.

Traditional stay in a place in the heart of the town center. Comfortable tatami, room was spacious and nice. Bathroom is a shared one but was very clean. Check in location was a few stores down from the accomodation so be aware of that as I was initially confused. Note that there's no elevator so not ideal if you have a huge luggage. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and will choose this place if I visit again.

A 15-minute walk from JR Kotohira Station, Kotohira Kadan offers natural hot spring baths and spacious Japanese-style rooms, some with a private outdoor hot spring bath.

Really excellent stay in this out of the way and beautiful place! Our room had a private hot spring bath - perfect for relaxing after a hike up to the many shrines on the mountain. We came for when the Kabuki theater had a show and it didn’t disappoint. Staff was multi-lingual. Food was excellent, Japanese set menus in a charming dining room.
