I booked a stay here for my family while on a roadtrip. We were impressed by the facilities and totally blown away by our room (10) and feel like we hit the jackpot with that particular room. We are looking for a reason to go back now and have a longer stay.

My stay at Bakenskraal Ostrich Palace was nothing short of extraordinary and will remain on my top list of memorable travel experiences. The staff went far beyond what was expected, going out of their way to accommodate us with a braai, even making roosterkoek for us, and ensuring that every detail was thoughtfully taken care of. Breakfast was equally exceptional and beautifully prepared, generous, and clearly made with love and genuine care. The entire experience made me fall in love with the Karoo. Bakenskraal Ostrich Palace is a rare gem that leaves you with warm, lasting memories, and I will most definitely return. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a truly memorable and heartfelt Karoo escape.

The greeting at reception was warm and friendly. . We were shown to our rooms which were spacious, airy and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent everything you could possibly ask for continental and full cooked breakfast. Overall impression of the hotel is excellent and great value for money.

De Oude Meul is always a great accommodation to stay in.The staff is very friendly, and are willing to help anytime.The beds are comfortable, nice showers, and kitchen is awesome.I love the breakfast and swimming pools.

The location is great. The accommodation is spacious and clean and it has everything you need in self catering. Check-in was very easy and smooth.

The breakfast was excellent both days we were there, and served in the room. The room we were given was an outside one, but pleasant. The house itself looks lovely and the front garden is beautiful.

Great location, within walking distance of several restaurants. The hosts were extremely friendly and the room was well-provisioned and totally clean. The WiFi worked great (I had to do some work while I was there and had no problems with video-calls). The breakfast was exceptional. I would definitely stay here again.

Karoo Sun Boutique Guest House is a well managed and immaculate stay by its owner, Hermien. The bedrooms and bathrooms are large, clean, comfortable and nicely curated, as are the shared spaces in the dining, living rooms and outside poolside area. Breakfast was delicious. Hermien went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable. We heartily recommend this boutique guest house.

This is really a little gem of a guesthouse. The staff is extremely nice and helped us book some activities, the rooms and common areas very clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. We were particularly impressed with the design an comfortability of the rooms. You can really see that a lot of thought and care went into all the little details. Book if you have a chance!

We met Mathilda at another of her properties in in Stellenbosch, in 2018 - and always wanted to stay at Die Opstal, after that. She's a remarkable woman, and we never forgot the effect she had on us then! Die Opstal is a BEAUTIFUL property, run by beautiful people!. We were the only guests on the night we stayed - but they still went out of their way to prepare the most incredible dinner and breakfast for us. It was well worth the big detour on our roadtrip, to finally get to experience Die Opstal... We HIGHLY recommend staying here....
