Our room offered magnificent mountain views that made every day special. We especially enjoyed the spa, with the saunas area standing out as wonderfully tranquil and relaxing. The hotel’s location was perfect, just a short walk to the mountain lifts and very close to numerous hiking trails, which made exploring the outdoors effortless. Overall, it was an excellent stay combining comfort, relaxation, and easy access to nature.

We had a wonderful experience. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and the rooms and ambiance in general very relaxing. Although it is an old castle it has modern comforts. The breakfasts and dinner menu are very appealing to the eye and tongue and wholesome with local produce. And finally the views of the valley and mountains are incredible.

Apartment was spacious, clean and well equiped. We even received a free upgrade for a bigger apartment for no additional costs (low season and few guests). We really appreciate the option to use Tauern Spa with great saunas. As well as unlimited free public transport all around Salzburg region. Very nice and helpful owner.

Variety for breakfast and dinner was excellent. Snacks choices were good. Annika found me a suitable box to ship home ski gear after I was injured. It was a huge weight off my mind and off luggage. 😁 After moving to another lovely hotel in Bad Hofgastein, we recognize just how comfortable and cared for we were at Oberforsthof. Great hotel. Beautiful interior & rooms are extremely comfortable. Great location if you are going to the Grosslockner High Road which is not far away. Breakfast is outstanding & makes worth the trip & stay. Owner & his wife are always present & very friendly. I am always in a sports car & underground parking always a plus. I hear many car clubs & groups make this a stop when visiting the high road. Beautiful lobby bar. Outdoor restaurant pricey but very good
