The location of the hotel is great. The owner of the hotel welcomes you with a smile. The room is very stylishly designed and comfortable. The breakfast is filling and delicious. We want to go again in the summer.

One of the most memorable places in France. Elizabeth is an energetic and thoughtful host. I will never forget her kindness to this tired and wet hiker (walked in the rain all afternoon). Make sure to get your breakfast (fresh hot pastries and baguette)

Every so often, that leap is rewarded, and our stay at Le Fenil du Grand Dormeur was that...pure gold. Just a short stroll from the train station, Le Fenil du Grand Dormeur offers two beautifully designed kitchenette suites for up to four guests. While the photos online are accurate, they can’t capture how enchanting the space truly is—immaculate rooms, spacious baths, supremely comfortable beds, fresh linens, and décor that blends elegance with warmth. Created with evident care and love, it’s not just a place to stay, but a place to slow down, savor the moment, and quietly fall in love with Alsace. And then there are the hosts—Nadia and Olivier—the true heart of this magical place. Gracious, attentive, and genuinely kind, they elevate the stay from wonderful to unforgettable. Each morning the lovely Nadia delivers a beautiful basket filled with local delights—homemade jams and juices, cheeses from the region, meats, yogurts, fruit, and fresh breads—accompanied by handwritten notes that feel as if you are opening presents. After a few mornings like that, one seriously contemplates moving to Bischoffsheim and asking if they could stay forever. Breakfast quickly became a cherished culinary daily ritual. Their kindness shone even brighter when flight delays caused us to miss our trains from Paris. Navigating travel hiccups in another language can be stressful, but Olivier’s calm guidance and reassurance made all the difference, reminding us just how deeply cared for we were. We definitely will be travelling to the Alsace region again and there is only one place we will ever consider staying. Our heartfelt thanks to Le Fenil du Grand Dormeur for creating memories we will treasure for a lifetime. This was not just a stay; it was an experience, and one we will never forget.

Beautifully situated with views of open fields filled with walking & biking trails. Our dog was so happy & comfortable here. The hosts were very welcoming. A great value close to so many beautiful Alsatian towns.
