Everything was awesome! The chalet was comfortable, spacious and suited us well. Food was excellent. Service was top notch - always with professionalism and a smile. The location was everything we'd hoped for, and we called it "the Real Scotland"! Despite the somewhat isolated location, there was plenty to do and sights to see. Country life at its finest.

With free private parking, the property is 18 miles from Callanish Standing Stones and 2.7 miles from Museum Nan Eilean. Outdoor seating is also available at The Sandy Pod.

My partner and I travelled to Stornoway with just our bikes. We rode the bikes to and from the town and the Sandy Pod, which only takes about 10 minutes each way. The bed was extremely comfortable and warm, kitchen facilities in great working order, complete with a fridge and oven as well as the stove. We cooked very easily there. The whole pod was exceptionally clean and new looking, and held the heat wonderfully. The area the pod is in is nothing short of spectacular, with pastoral views with sheep and grass with the Sandwick Bay very close by. A perfect little accommodation for two people, would highly recommend to anyone! Good selection of complimentary coffee, tea, sugar, milk, cookies, and wine!

Providing a garden, Gunn Croft provides accommodations in Balallan. Guests staying at this homestay have access to free Wifi and a terrace. Towels and bed linen are provided in the homestay.

Ideal stop off location for a solo traveller. Michael the host very welcoming, helpful and interesting. Facilities excellent, private bedroom and very comfortable bed. Although location is about 15 miles from the main town Stornoway there is a good local bus service running by the property. Space for parking a car across the road from the property and a very scenic location. If you like dogs the resident collie Ishga will keep you going and will be your new best friend if you keep throwing things for her. She is extremely well behaved.
