The owner is a very nice person. The rooms were renovated and it had a very unique atmosphere. It used to be the house of a medical doctor, adjacent to his hospital. Three buislings, all have a unique character. Nice kitchen. We came off season but usually there is a coffee shop on the facilities, too.

Our room was very comfortable and had really lovely wood and tile decor. There was a kitchen area, living room with tatami mats, and a big family bath. It's very convenient if you're walking the Shikoku 88 Pilgrimage Trail. There is delicious yakitori for dinner about a 10 minute walk away.

Very friendly opportunity. And so good location with bicycles. If you doing pilgrimage way between the temples in Tokushima, it is the best place to stay.

This ryokan is large house that is occupied by a Japanese family with small children, and they have set up a handful of guest rooms. That, in itself, is delightful to me. This town is about experiencing the old Japan, and that is also true with this house. The house has not been updated in a few decades, and the manual toilets are standard low-flush composting. I feel like I am experiencing Japan before its became a high-tech country. I value this experience, but if you need everything to be new and digital, this is not the place for you. Wi-fi is available in the common areas but I didn't have the signal in my room upstairs. The lovely walk from the train station takes about half an hour and is along the river and a bamboo grove, so it is quite enjoyable. The owner offered me a ride back. I was there in the middle of November and it was getting cold, since it's a drafty old house. The bed has a warm duvet and there is a heater in the room.
