Very nice host and lovely large house. For us it was an exceptional stay, as it was the first time that we stayed in a traditional Japanese farmer's house. It's a bit remote but therefor calm and peaceful. Usually many people including foreigners stay here and work on the house to expand, repair and improve it. It's a great ongoing project. The beds were so comfy, the room clean, the people happy and so were we.

Here you have the possibility to stay at a traditional Japanese house. It is renovated and well maintained and the owner is taking good care of the house and you as a guest. Communication works good in Japanese and a bit of English with technology helping with the translation when needed. The host is giving you local advises around the area based on your interests and also introduces you to local traditions, like drinking Japanese tea and local food culture. Everything in the house was clean and sleeping on a traditional futon was also comfortable. The house is located just a 10-15 minutes walk from the Shinkansen train station and is in a very remote and quiet area. Nevertheless Supermarkets, convinience stores, restaurants etc. are just a short walk away. Also by using local trains you easily can do day trips to other places visiting nature and history. If you want to experience staying in a traditional Japanese house I only can recommned to stay here.

A very comfortable guest house nearby Akiyoshido Caves. The owner is friendly and easy to communicate to, he even knows some English! The rooms are wide and very clean, the bathroom as well. The best part of the house is probably the shared space. Filled with fascinating furniture, it looks like a vintage shop. There is even a small stage with a drum set and some guitars! At dinner time we enjoyed some delicious taco rice made by the owner and some Japanese sake and craft beers. Very positive experience, highly recommended!

Very nice place, spacious dining and living area. The bedrooms are upstairs, with a toilet and simple kitchen on the 2nd floor. The owner and manager were helpful and friendly. The karst plateau and a number of caves are nearby, it was very quiet.
