It was the perfect location with the most amazing owners. They were fantastic from getting us New Years Eve Resturant reservations before we got there to letting us know about Zao. Great experience and beautiful place!!

The location of the place was also near and convenient for people who will have skiing trips and onsen activities. The owners were kind and approachable. This place feels like a cozy winter cottage and honestly felt like home. I stayed here for three nights while snowboarding at Zao Onsen Ski Resort, and it was the best place I stayed during my first trip to Japan. The house is small but extremely cozy, warm, and comfortable. The rooms are perfect for winter, and the heated floors were amazing after long cold days outside. The living room is also very cozy and a great place to relax. Everything was very clean and tidy, including the shared bathroom, which was always spotless. The location is also very convenient. Zao Onsen Ski Resort is only about 10 minutes away by bus. There is also a free shuttle, but it only runs on certain days, so I recommend asking the owner in advance. The owner provides all the information you need, which is especially helpful if it’s your first time visiting Japan. Another great bonus is that you can rent a snowboard from the property (snowboard only, no boots or bindings). There is also a taxi option from the ski resort to the house, which cost around 1100 yen, so transportation is easy even if you don’t want to rely on the shuttle. The best part of this stay was the owner. They were the kindest and most welcoming host I have ever met. They made me feel very comfortable and helped with everything. On the first night, they even shared dinner with us, which they didn’t have to do, but it made the experience feel even more special. If I ever come back to Zao in the future, I will 100% stay here again and nowhere else. Highly recommended.

The location is amazing, super close to a ski rental shop and the lifts. The room was spacious, self-check in and check-out is efficient and easy
