Homestays in Gwangju

I enjoyed staying at this place. The apartment was clean, cozy, and comfortable. It had everything you need, even for a long stay. The beds were wide and comfortable, with plenty of pillows and warm blankets, so all four of us slept well. Additional supplies like toothbrushes, coffee, etc. were also included — thank you for that, it was nice ✨

It’s small but for the budget and knowing that it is located in an expensive city is actually a good value for its money and I am sick when I went here, but the owner really helped me.

Place is really clean. Kitchen and washing machine is in the basement. There is even a coffee machine. The room is cosy. At first I was uncomfortable by the pictures showing how close the bed is to the toilet. But the place is super clean and it wasn't even an issue. Water is very warm for a comfortable hot shower. There is a bench/table and chair, convenient to do work or eat in private. There is a mini fridge in the room too. There is a high wardrobe to hang your clothes and plenty of shelves to put your things on. There is floor central heating and an extra portable heater. The winter can be opened for some fresh air. The whole guesthouse is peaceful and other guests are respectful of others. There are "quiet zone" signs. Location is really good, walking distance to Gangnam, and plenty of restaurants/eateries/cafes around. Metro line and bus stops are 3 mins walk away. Host is responsive and very kind. I was allowed to check in early (subject to availability).

Gangnam Stay feels like home away from home, a place where as a woman I'm able to feel safe, cared for and that the accommodation I'm staying at is tailored to a woman's needs. I truly believe that what distinguishes GangnamStay is its heart, the amount of care and effort goes into creating a welcoming space for those travelling far and wide like me to settle in and explore South Korea, be nourished by the delicious authentic Korean food that is lovingly prepared and then rest our heads on a comfortable bed that has privacy blinds, charging ports and ample room to store items in the bed area and the room itself, at the end of our day. The facilities are clean and tidy, with a full bathroom, kitchen and laundry for guest use. I think the word 'guest' is a good one to describe the high level of customer service that is provided, where you are cared for as if you are a friend and connected to the abundant sites and resources both at your fingertips in the Gangnam area or across South Korea. The amount of effort that has been put into tailoring information and customising events for guests to connect has been incredible and something only Sue and the GangnamStay family could do. Even with how great the place is, they're always continuously seeking to improve their service offering, they're so kind and willing to help however they can and they have made my time so pleasant and enjoyable that I want to keep coming back. As a bonus it is very foreigner friendly and Sue's English skills are better than mine so having a multilingual staff is very beneficial (although I'm trying my best to reciprocate by learning Korean). In essence, GangnamStay is the gold standard of service and the very best in female friendly accommodation, I'm glad I found it and have stayed there.
