Hostels in Midigama East

Finally a real backpacker vibe in SL! This place was awesome!! Clean, cozy, great common areas and a share kitchen. Perfectly located between busy Weligama and hip Ahangama. Surfers converge in this small, quaint town to give it life without overbearing it. The hostel was quiet at night and had a nice coffee machine set up for the mornings. Staff is very friendly! Don't skip this place!! It recently opened and is about to become the best place in town. I extended my stay and wish I didn't have to leave. Thanks Max!

Authentic experience with good people in a jungle setting, good location and good food

Room was big though simple. Very comfortable stay.

It was really calm place (except the train running right behind the house lol - but it wasn’t a problem). 6 minutes walk from a bus stop. Its not in the city so u can use bus or they provide bikes to get around. Breakfast included. There are no lockers, but u can leave your stuff with the host if u want to. The dorm is small and beds are right next to each other. The other travelers were great so I didn’t mind. There are plugs next to the bed.

Staff was really friendly and helpful. They welcome you with a banana shake and make you feel like you’re at a resort haha. The rooms are clean and beds are spacious

Property is clean, family dinners are delicious, location is convenient with a short walk to main road and best sunset cafe, quiet area, breakfast and coffee is two minutes walk from hostel, staff is super fun friendly and kind. Owners are just amazing Budget hostel, perfect for solo or friends, many great things will be added to the property soon and it will be even better!! Recommend 100%

Very fun social vibes with events on some nights, highlights were the Open Mic and Table Tennis. Pizzas from the restaurant were delicious too.

Great stay. Close walk to busy area while being on a quiet street. I picked this hostel for the location as others were too far for my taste. It has a very good restaurant right across that is very busy and very affordable for dinner and there is a small fruit stand right beside it so perfect to buy mango for breakfast. Also a grocery store one minute walk for water etc. I was supposed to stay in ahangama one night but I stayed 4 until my return flight. The place is quiet (not a busy hostel as it’s new) so if you’re looking for a party and social hostel that won’t work. If you’re looking for a clean and homey and relaxing place then that’s for you. The owner was basically cleaning every time I saw him and is a lovely person. We were around 3 on average in the hostel so I was lucky to be alone in my dorm 3 of the 4 nights. This was perfect for the end of my trip after the craziness of social hostels. It just felt like home. One of the rare hostels with proper wifi from dorm and never ran out or toilet paper ! My dorm had AC as well Also there is a gym 2 minutes away.

Genuinely the best value hostel in Ahangama. Beautiful pool in the garden, great facilities and right by the Marshmallows break. Great yoga shala up on top for sunset. Owners are super chilled & let you hang out at the pool pre/post check in/out. Would 100% come back!

I loved how clean the rooms are and how friendly the staff is !

I enjoyed that the room only has four beds, and the AC is a great addition. There is a space outdoors and indoors to hang out, and this is more of a quiet Hostel. There are two showers and two toilets, which is plenty. I’ve had to extend my stay by 1 week due to flight cancellations, and happy to stay in this Hostel. Wage is the main staff here, he is very helpful and friendly.
