I had some issues with my itinerary and was unsure about staying in Berat, but after getting to the guest house I decided I had to stay. It was the place where I had the most authentic contact with locals during my travel around the country. The father is really nice and welcoming, he let me check in quite early and everything was clean and prepared for the guests. Comfortable beds and pillows with lockers, 2 towels per guest, slippers available, each room has a fridge and a jar of drinking water. The bathrooms were clean and with shampoo/soap. They also have an amazing terrace to relax. They offered me some local drinks in the evening and we talked about life in Albania. Thank you for hosting me, this was my favorite accommodation in Albania.

I highly recommend Edward Lear Guesthouse for a stay in Berat. The property is located in the Gorica neighborhood (UNESCO protected area) right across the Gorica bridge. The price is so affordable and the place looks like a small museum. Interesting fact, the property got its name from the famous painter whose paintings are hanged all over the place. The owner is also called by the same name and he is passionated about history.

Amazing place 🤩 Friendly stuff, tasty and fresh breakfast, clean rooms, big kitchen with all equipment stuff for cook, big dining room where you can eat, chill or work, also nice open area with chairs and tables. Location is in the city center. Oh and they have “welcome shots” 🥃 wish them prosperity!

Very short walk from Bus station. Easy walk into center or nice back streets up to castle walk. Owners very caring and helpful. Small hostel with plans to expand and add more. One of owners cooks breakfast every morning around 9am before you head off to explore Berat. Even help me with doing a tour to Canyon.

I had a wonderful stay at this hostel. Everything was extremely clean, and you can tell it’s recently opened because the facilities feel very fresh and well-maintained. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful throughout my stay, always ready to assist with anything I needed. I would definitely come back and highly recommend it to anyone visiting!
