Our Guest House was named "Geologist's House" in honor of our father Avetisyan Artashes. He worked for more than 30 years as a geologist in the Lori region. Now this house is the summer house of our family. We decided to convert it into a guest house as it is surrounded by beautiful nature.    We like to receive guests and try to create an atmosphere for them to make them feel at home. I like an active way of life, and at the request of our guests I can organize for them hiking, mountain biking and sightseeing tours.

"Geologist's House" is located on the outskirts of the village of Gargar, 150 m to the left of the road leading to village Pushkino. The distance of the village from Yerevan is 130 km, and то Tbilisi 160 km . The highway Yerevan-Tbilisi passes through the village Gargar.  This is a peaceful and beautiful place, surrounded by beautiful nature. From the balconies of "Geologist's House" are opend magnificent landscapes to Bazum mountin range and the surrounding forests and mountains. A little lower flows the small mountain river Gargar.  Having visited our house you will see real Armenia without retouching. Around you can always see a lot of pets.   Most of the furniture in our house is made by me. Pottery is specially prepared for our house from local clay.   "Geologist's House" is not a fashionable hotel. This is a cozy rural house with all the necessary amenities. If you want relax a few days away from city noise, you love nature, and climbing mountains, then you will like our place.

Our area is an ideal place for hiking and mountain biking. The Lori region is rich whit historical monuments.  Direct proximity from us are: Mount Todor (with a height of 2796 m). Stepanavan arboretum founded by Polish forest engineer Edmon Leonovich from the 1930s. Lake with unique water lilies. Fortress Lori Bird. Built in the 11th century. The monastery Hnevank. It was built in the 7th century and it's located on the bottom of the gorge river Dzoraget. Mount St. Sarkis with the same name church and the ruins of the fortress at the peak. Church was built in the 12th century. Fortress was built earlier. From the height of this mountain opens a wonderful landscape to the whole neighborhood. Russian church of St. Nicholas in the village of Amrakits (formerly Kirov). It was built 200 years ago by the Ukrainian Cossacks. A monument in honor of the meeting of russian poet Alexander Pushkin with a cart that carry the body of Alexander Griboyedov to Tiflis. Mayor's Gorge with 2 caves. Historical museum and gallery in Stepanavan. Monastery Oromair 7-9th century. Church in Odzun 5 th century. Monastery complexes in Haghpat and Sanahin, which are under protection by UNESCO.
