Casa de Adobe Doña Tinogasta is an authentic family adobe house with more than 100 years of history. María Elena’s parents acquired it in 1961, and it has remained part of her maternal family’s legacy ever since. In 2025, the house was fully restored while preserving its original structure and the essence of the traditional architecture of western Catamarca. The house combines history with modern comfort. Its rooms feature heating and air conditioning, Smart TVs, minibars, wardrobes, bed linen and toiletries. It also offers Starlink Wi-Fi, a fully equipped kitchen, a spacious veranda, patios, a covered barbecue area and on-site parking, including covered spaces and an automatic entrance gate. The stay includes a self-service dry breakfast, with hot drinks and baked goods, ideal for starting the day before exploring the region. For security, the property has visible cameras covering the entrances, parking areas and shared spaces. There are no cameras in bedrooms, bathrooms or any other private areas.

We are María Elena and Nicolás. Our family has deep roots in Tinogasta through María Elena’s maternal family, and this house forms part of that legacy. We manage it together as a family, supporting our guests from their initial enquiry through to the end of their stay. In Tinogasta, Blanca, our local property manager, personally welcomes visitors and is available to assist with any needs that may arise. Together, we aim to provide warm, attentive and personalised hospitality.

The house is located in the very centre of Tinogasta, just 50 metres from the main square, on a central street within a residential setting. Restaurants, cafés, shops, pharmacies and other essential services are all within easy walking distance. Nearby are the Museo del Sabor (Museum of Flavour), the Iglesia San Juan Bautista (Church of Saint John the Baptist), a branch of Banco de la Nación Argentina, Argentina’s national bank, with cash machines, and the Automóvil Club Argentino (ACA) petrol station. Its location is particularly convenient for guests travelling around the region by car. Thanks to its dry and mostly sunny climate, Tinogasta is an ideal base for exploring the Ruta del Adobe (Adobe Route), local wineries and regional producers, Fiambalá and its thermal baths, the Dunas de Tatón (Tatón Dunes), Cortaderas, Laguna Verde, Balcón del Pissis and the San Francisco International Pass. Longer excursions can also be arranged to El Peñón and the Campo de Piedra Pómez (Pumice Stone Field).
