Welcome to Haus Elena (Gethyn and Elena Carr) We are a family-run guest house with a focus on giving our guests a happy and comfortable stay. Elena has many years of experience in the hotel industry. She places great importance on cleanliness and offering a tasty breakfast. Gethyn is the adventurous one who loves to be out hiking, skiing or riding his mountain bike. He also looks after the garden, vegetables and other odd jobs around the house.

Property info

Haus Elena is located in a beautiful sunny location on the bank of the river Möll. Our priority is the comfort of our guests and all of our rooms have a balcony and private bathroom. The property has modern facilities but maintains the traditional style of the area. We use hypoallergenic bedding as standard. Guests are free to use our terrace, relax in the garden (by the river), and play table tennis at no extra charge. Each room has a flat screen smart television, with satellite channels. There is a small snack menu available in the evenings (charges apply). Breakfast is not available in low season. (April to early June, mid-September to early December). Free parking is available for cars and motorcycles and we also offer indoor storage for bicycles. Please note that the double rooms face a timber yard. Sometimes they use their machinery early in the morning so there can be some noise disruption.

Neighborhood info

We are located in the Hohe Tauern National Park region in Carinthia. Surrounded by beautiful scenery in the upper Möll valley. For Summer, there are many cycling and hiking routes in the area. An outdoor swimming pool is only five minutes drive away and the Naturbad (natural pool) of Grosskirchheim can be reached by car in around 15 minutes. In winter, the ski areas of Lienz Hochstein, Lienz Zettersfeld, Grossglockner/Heiligenblut and Mölltaler Gletscher are within 20-30 minutes drive. Our viallge also has it's own drag lift, ice rink and floodlit toboggan run. If you love cross country skiing, there are many circuits nearby, including one starting just a few hundred metres from our house. The famous Grossglockner High Road (Hochalpenstarsse) is less than 30 minutes away and provides for spectacular views of Austrias highest mountain.
