The 2 storey stone-wood construction was originally a farmhouse. The artist Alexander Drobik has bought it in 1933 and located it as an annex of the vis a vis inn. Used as a private residence from 1970 onwards and completely renovated in 1998, the staircase and the orginal wooden structure was preserved. Downstairs is the small studio with private entrance, a veranda (uses the owner), the west entrance to the staircase, and the east entrance (used by the owner to reach the the house technic). On the staircase it goes to the 1st floor and in the attic. On 1st floor aisle at right sight is the living room with a kitchenette, a single bed, dining area, seating and a fireplace. The living room can also be reached via a separate outside staircase. From the aisle left side it goes to the bathroom, an extra toilet and to the bedroom. Both attic bedrooms (2 futons with 4 single mattresses) on the 2nd floor are left and right of the staircase. In between there is a further bathroom.

In the house you will encounter anywhere originals from the academic painter Alexander Drobik. The nature and the mountains were his passion and the same applies to me. My visitors will be entertained with stories and Sagas about the "Schanz", whether as walking companion, mushroom expert, ski mountaineering walker or just in the cosy Pub across the street. Feel the great nature and our "champaign" fresh air.

The house is situated idyllic on 1169m above sea level on the L114 surrounded by nature. Become one with the environment and thus achieve optimal recovery values. Explore the numerous hiking destinations on well markieten routes - Teufelstein (Celtic place of power), Stanglalm, Rosseggers birthplace, Herrenalm, ......... or discover fauna and flora of the Fischbacher Alps. Enjoy the magnificent forest air and quietness on Schanz. Hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, a small ski lift and an inn is located right on the doorstep. The passing of the seasons determines the experience of nature, forest berries and mushrooms in abundance or a pristine snowscape. In 6km away Fischbach You have shops, a swimming pond, tennis, mini golf, cafes and numerous restaurants. "Auf der Schanz" founded by a Turkish fortifications from the 17th c. This building is located on the pilgrimage route to Mariazell (702, 706, 730, 740). The Schanzsattel road connects the Mürztal with the northern Oststeiermark.
