As we all know, there are two genes: the “travel gene” and the “host gene” – we have both. Our parents were already traveling to get to know foreign countries, cultures, and their people. Dad Edi was quite the adventurer. Diving with hammerhead sharks in Palau, with white sharks in South Africa, with Peter Habeler in the mountains of Nepal and Tibet, visiting the Papuans, the indigenous inhabitants of Papua New Guinea, tracing the unique fauna of the Galapagos.... At some point, this became too exciting for our mom Christa, who prefers to be at home anyway, true to the motto: ...when good things are so close... Her favorite vacation destination is and remains the balcony with a view of the forest. Isabell and Tina also regularly packed their backpacks and bought the occasional one-way ticket, only to be sooo happy to come home again. We saw a lot and learned a lot... When you are invited by people you don't know and whose language you don't even understand, and they share the little they have with you, you understand above all what hospitality means – a gift that we also pass on.

The free ski and hiking bus stops right outside the door and takes you comfortably to the valley station of the Isskogelbahn cable car and other leisure destinations in the Zillertal. The snow-covered ski slope takes you directly to the Boutique Apartments Gerlosperle. In summer, Gerlos is ideal for hiking, mountain biking, and a variety of other leisure activities in the Zillertal Arena. Gerlos fascinates hikers, climbers, mountaineers, mountain bikers, and rafting and paragliding enthusiasts with all its facets. In winter, the extensive Zillertal Arena ski area with 51 lifts and 139 kilometers of slopes is a paradise for skiers and snowboarders. Wonderful winter hiking trails and cross-country skiing trails in the surrounding area take you to beautiful alpine pastures or to one of the five side valleys that can be reached on foot from the Boutique Apartments Gerlosperle.
