Set on the starry mountain above Velden, Sternberghof is a private country residence created as a gathering place for family and friends. A private road opens to Alpine views where Austria, Slovenia, and Italy meet. Newly renovated and expanded, the house blends farmhouse charm with modern space. Designed with sustainability in mind, it is heated by geothermal energy, powered by photovoltaic panels, and supplied by its own spring water. Sternberghof has 4 bedrooms, 1 office/bedroom, 12 beds and 3 bathrooms. In the new loft, a marble hallway opens to a 100 m² living room and kitchen hall with six-metre ceilings, oak floors, Boffi kitchen, soft lighting and breathtaking views . The original farmhouse offers a cozy living room with a wood stove, second kitchen, laundry and workshop. Home gym in barn. Outside, four private hectares invite fun summer days: yoga, brunch on the east terrace, swims in the pond, badminton on the lawn, herbs from the garden, orchard fruit, and sunset wine on the west terrace. Ars vivendi. Lucky to have lived in six countries and traveled across 60, I have always loved discovering the world through people, conversation and shared experiences. Our Landhaus near the Wörthersee has grounded my wandering spirit. It is a place I deeply love. Tables turned: from being a guest, I now enjoy creating warm moments for others: yoga mornings, brunches with sweeping views of the Julian Alps, afternoon hikes and lake swims, sunset dinners by the fire. Sternberghof sits on the quiet mountain of Sternberg above Velden am Wörthersee, in one of Carinthia’s most beautiful three-country corners. On foot, guests can take a short walk to St. Georg Kirche and Sternberg Messnerei for fine Carinthian cooking, continue to nearby Fisherhof farm for local specialities and gifts to take home, or visit Schloss Damtschach for an art exhibit. Longer walks lead to Burgruine Hohenwart and the Sternberg Runde. Within 15 minutes by car are Velden and Lake Wörthersee, Faaker See, Ossiacher See, Schloss Rosegg, Gerlitzen for hiking, biking or skiing, and Golf Club Velden Köstenberg. Villach and Klagenfurt are about 30 minutes away, as is Dobratsch Mountain. The location is ideal for exploring Austria, Italy, and Slovenia. Tarvisio, Lago del Predil, Bled, Bovec, and Triglav are around 40 minutes away, while Venice, Trieste, Udine, Aquileia, Grado, and the Adriatic coast are within two hours and make wonderful day trips.
