The house is located at the beginning of the Wachau which is known as a World Heritage Site, in the middle of the Nibelungengau, a small historic village right on the Danube beach. Excursion destinations are easily accessible by car, just a place to relax and unwind. The Wachau is an Austrian valley with a picturesque landscape formed by the Danube river. It is one of the most prominent tourist destinations of Lower Austria. The name Nibelungengau is explained by the fact that the region played an important role in the Nibelungensong. Rüdiger von Bechelaren, a feudal lord of the Hun king, Etzel, is said to have had his seat there as a margrave. There is a bus station 5 minutes walk from the house, with this bus you reach the train station Melk, from theregoes trains in directions, Vienna or Salzburg. For our little ones there is of course also a children's playground on the beach which can be reached directly after a short walk, or if you fancy a cozy picnic with the family you will find the opportunity to do so in front of the house on a small meadow.
