Aggsbach Markt is located in the heart of the Wachau, one of Europe's most beautiful river landscapes and part of the UNESCO World Heritage Wachau. Our guests particularly enjoy hiking along the Wachau World Heritage Trail, which runs through the region, as well as cycling tours on the famous Danube Cycle Path. From our accommodation, you can easily reach numerous hiking trails, scenic viewpoints, vineyards, and the Danube within a short time. Some of the region's most popular attractions include Melk Abbey, the ruins of Aggstein Castle, the historic town of Dürnstein, and the picturesque wine villages of Spitz, Weißenkirchen, and Rossatz. The Wachau is also renowned for its apricots, excellent wines, and traditional wine taverns known as "Heurigen". Throughout the year, the region hosts a variety of events, including the Wachau Summer Solstice celebrations, the Apricot Festival in Spitz, Starnacht Wachau, and the Wachau Marathon. Guests can enjoy a wide selection of cosy inns, traditional Heurigen wine taverns, and restaurants in the surrounding area.
