Feel nurtured at Bushy Summers, the perfect place to completely relax & be at one in nature. The Bushy bedroom has a comfortable double, cast iron bed & is topped with beautiful, luxe, flax linen bedding. The bedroom has a large internal, picture window with a view through the living area and out over the bay. No need to hurry out of bed as you can still watch the bay as it slowly wakes up. From the bedroom you enter the bathroom through our iconic blue, carved, wooden doors. Enjoy soaking in our cast iron, claw foot bath, just lay back and watch the tops of the gum trees through the window as they sway across the sky. Bushy has a fully equipped kitchen, ideal for those who don’t want to leave the peace of the bay. You can enjoy your meals looking out through the large window which frames the water view perfectly. There is a cosy day bed to curl up on with a cup of tea and a good book, when you feel like staying put. Anytime, night or day, sit outside on our deck, listen to the birdsong, feed the ducks, breath in the fresh clean Tassie air and watch the ever changing skies.

I can't live without creativity, sunlight, nature and authenticity. As Matthew and I are not always nearby to welcome you we have a wonderful caretaker, Rachael who is on hand during office hours and is happy to help you during your stay should you need her. If you do need to contact her after hours, please do so only in an emergency.

The serenity and close-knit community of neighbouring, historic miner shacks is what makes Lettes Bay so special. As do the constantly changing weather and enormous skies. The bay is more alive during the summer months but the winter is also very special. Rug up and get out for long walks, take a steam train ride or explore Macquarie Harbour and take a Gordon River Cruise. For supplies, the local IGA (grocer) is a 10 minute drive. They stock most things you will need. The best coffee is to be found at the Coffee Shack and they sell good homecooked treats. There is a liquor store in Strahan, along with a petrol station and laundromat. The West Coast Wilderness Railway is only a 5 minute drive from the cabin and the Gordon River Cruise terminal is less than a 10 minute drive. Please note: There is signed 'Private' road at the end of Lettes Bay road, not for guest access.
