Our house perfectly suits two couples, a family or friends traveling together. The whole house rate accommodates up to 4 guests very comfortably. There are two stylish main bedrooms & bathrooms, & several lovely living areas indoors and out - space, flexibility, quality & PRIVACY. Ducted heating warms every room – a big bonus in Tasmania! The house is designed with pleasure and comfort in mind. All rooms have garden views with a leafy indoor/outdoor feel at all times. The modern kitchen features a dishwasher, induction cooktop, ducted VZug convection & steam combination oven and a Nespresso capsule coffee machine with milk steamer. This beautiful open plan living/dining/kitchen space has a large dining table (seats 6), a small sitting area with TV, and leafy garden views. There is also a light-filled formal lounge room at the front of the house with a 75” Smart TV and Netflix. The main bedroom has a king sized bed and direct access through French doors to a leafy patio and outdoor dining area that seats six. The second, equally attractive bedroom has a queen bed and access to a spacious sunroom, which can be used as a sitting room, an office space or a playroom. The third bedroom will be set up to suit the guests’ requirements. It can have one single bed or two single beds (the second single is a roll out bed but with legs) or a single bed and a cot. There are two bathrooms, both with underfloor heating, one with a walk-in shower and the other with a shower over a large bath. The fully equipped laundry includes a second toilet. It's a very private house and garden, with furnished outdoor relaxation areas to enjoy. The garden is also quite productive and you are invited to eat any ripe fruit and use any of the many herbs. You may even encounter wallabies or pademelons in the front garden!

I, Larry, have lived and raised my family in this house for over 40 years. It's been a happy, loving place. Many of its changes bear my touch and, especially since Kate and I married, the level of comfort has increased markedly. Now that we have the time to travel, I'm very proud to be able to share our family home with guests. I'm a keen tennis player, fly fisherman and I love wandering in the outdoors. Kate is an accomplished artist and many of the works on display in the house have been painted by her. Ellen lives nearby and can attend to any short term needs. We all wish you a happy stay!!

Kate Owen Art House Hobart is located on the border of Mount Stuart, Lenah Valley, New Town and North Hobart. It is a central but quiet and leafy neighbourhood, and the street has minimal through traffic, making it a peaceful place to return to after a day of activity. The house is walking distance to the North Hobart dining and entertainment district, where you'll find plenty of cafés, bars and restaurants, the iconic State Cinema, and all essential services. It is a 40 minute walk or short drive to the city and waterfront. There is free, all day parking on the street by the house. There is a bus stop 300 metres away at the bottom of the street where you can get regular buses into the city (a trip of about 15 minutes). An Uber to the city costs approximately ten dollars.
