Kooyong Apartments are run and owned by a family who have been enjoying Magnetic Island for generations. They have a passion for the islands magical charm and look forward to sharing their patch of paradise with you.

Property info

Originally built to provide well needed rest for Mt Isa workers in the 1940s, now a family run business. These units keep their character whilst boasting modern facilities. A comprehensive renovation was completed in 2018 and all units feature a full kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine as well as free Starlink WIFI. Set in tropical gardens, the grounds invite the island’s wildlife; wallabies and the occasional koala come to say hello, along with a vast cast of charismatic birds. There are three one bedroom units, perfect for couples or single adventurers and five two bedroom units, perfect for families, (sleeping 2 adults and up to 4 children or groups of up to 4 adults). Kooyong offers a safe and relaxing base for all the family. The units are set in tropical gardens around a gazebo with BBQ and seating, perfect to get together with family and friends. The landscaped pool invites you in to soak up the sun and relax. With free parking and Starlink WIFI, Kooyong Apartments are your home away from home.

Neighborhood info

Magnetic Island, Yunbenun, is a unique jewel situated in the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area. A large part of the island is protected, allowing you to stroll the pristine golden sand bays, beautifully framed by granite boulders. For the more adventurous, there are fringing reefs, vibrant wetlands and serene vistas to be explored. The island is home to a some friendly and iconic wildlife. You can spot a koala, feed the rainbow lorikeets, and say hello to the rock wallabies. Kooyong Apartments is the perfect base for your holiday, located one block away from Alma Bay, one of the best family swimming beaches in the world. Around the corner, separated by a rocky outcrop, the head of the Gabul snake, Geoffrey Bay, stretches by the shady walking track and the ocean. A snorkel trail takes you passed the giant clams and to the small wreck of the Molke. Arcadia RSL is a pleasant stroll from Kooyong Apartments, where you can get a Sunday roast, or dinner at the Friday evening markets. Arcadia Newsagent, The Arcadia Store, Arcadia Bakehouse, The Stage Door Theater, Pleasure Divers, The Sphinx look out and The Arcadia Hotel are all in easy reach.
