The Lodge is situated next to World Heritage rainforest, 5 minutes from the beach and a short journey by boat to the Great Barrier Reef. Cassowaries wander through the property on a daily basis, both adults and their young - a wonderful opportunity to see this endangered bird. The Lodge overlooks a magnificent garden full of native plants - a haven for butterflies, birds and bumble bees.

Hello, we are the owners of Licuala Lodge —John and Guillem and we would like to welcome you to our property where the rain forest almost meets the reef! Enjoy our amazing garden, filled with birds and butterflies, with visits by our Cassowary family.....our wonderful swimming pool and our friendly hospitality. In the mornings share your breakfast time with other like-minded guests and share your experiences. We can book your Mission Beach tours and give advice on things to do in the area. We look forward to meeting you.

Mission Beach is a small town, where crime is almost unheard of. Our population is around 1500. Lots of rainforest walks are to be found along with 14 kms of unspoilt beach. Plenty of restaurants in the area, including two excellent Thai restaurants. A large supermarket is close by, a new local heated swimming pool, and loads of activities for the adventurous amongst you - scuba diving, sky diving, white water rafting, horse riding!! it is a fabulous place for photography due to its amazing flora and fauna - the magnificent Cassowary is a frequent sighting at Mission Beach - we see them at the Lodge most days....Or if you simply want to relax - kick back and read a book - easy to find a spot in the neighbourhood!
