Parnella Kettering is a country house located in the quiet village of Kettering, 30kms south of Hobart. We are the current custodians is set in 5 acres of land, with established gardens, pasture and light bush. We are developing our property to offer a secluded and peaceful environment for both ourselves and our guests. We currently offer a two bedroom apartment and one bed studio cottage as accommodation. We believe in treating our guests the way we would like to be treated. We want your stay with us to be positively memorable. We live on site, but we can assure you that we will be available when you need us and invisible when you don't.

We are Jonathan and Sue. We own and operate Parnella Group Tasmania which includes short-term accommodation on Bruny Island as well as in Kettering. We both have professional business experience. Sue's background including dairy farming and her current career as a real estate agent and co-owner of Raine&Horne Kingston. Jonathan is a commercial photographer and marketing communications consultant as well as being the property manager of Parnella Group Tasmania. We love living in our region and feel privileged to be able to share our property and home with guests from all over the world.

Kettering is a sleepy little village located approximately 30kms from Hobart. We consider it to be the gateway to the beautiful d'Entrecasteaux Channel region of southern Tasmania. Kettering is also the mainland port of the Bruny Island ferry. Even though it's a quiet place, the Kettering marina is home to multi-million dollars worth of luxury cruisers and yachts. Although the township itself does not have many facilities, it does boast a Post Office, service station, great little pub, waterfront café and one of the best chocolate shops in Tasmania. The closest supermarket and shops are located in Snug, 5 minutes from Kettering towards Hobart. There are also some excellent restaurants in Kingston Beach and Blackmans Bay a 15 minute drive north of Kettering. Many of our guests base themselves here to explore Bruny Island, the Far South region as well as Hobart and the Huon Valley. Traffic is light, the roads are pretty good and traveling times to anywhere are not particularly difficult. There are some beautiful beaches in our region suitable for walking, swimming and sunning yourself and there are also plenty of interesting bushwalks. Wildlife is in abundance here and the variety of birdlife has to be seen to be believed.
