Sanctuary Lakes Fauna Retreat offers self-contained, Melanesian-style villas overlooking a lake and surrounded by 10 acres of tropical nature reserve. It is 984 feet from the beach in Hervey Bay. All the villas of the Sanctuary Lakes Fauna Retreat come with kitchenette facilities, private balcony, air conditioning and TV with DVD player. Free wifi is available to all guests at various locations around the retreat - it may not be available in all villas The resort has a swimming pool and barbecue facilities. Rod and Deb are very passionate about the wildlife at the retreat and are always available to chat about how you can help protect them and their environment. Join them for feeding times so you can help feed the birds, turtles and possums - and any other critter than might wander through the property. They are "local experts" on most things to see and do on the Fraser Coast and want to ensure you have the best stay possible. Why not ask them about their favourite places to eat, things to see or the best tour option for your needs. They would love to welcome you to the retreat and encourage you to put your feet up and relax while you are in this tranquil location. They are here to help you with all your tour bookings and information about the local areas and nearby islands.

A hidden gem right in the middle of Hervey Bay. We are proud to invite guests to this calming and peaceful environment. Stay in your own private villa in our fauna reserve surrounded by gardens with the possibility of a visit by some our resident wildlife. Its a great place for a relaxing weekend with family and friends or a romantic getaway for couples. With an abundance of birds and wildlife, its the perfect place for nature lovers too. Every Villa has a lakeside view. Our cabins are all stand-alone and self-contained, so you can rest assured knowing there are no shared stairways or corridors at the property.

Neighborhood info

We are a stone's throw away from the beautiful heritage listed Fraser Island, Lady Elliot Island and a number of other locations that will take your breath away. Swim with the turtles, watch in awe as the whales put on a spectacle for you and paddle with the dolphins. We are a short walk to the beach and pier and close to shopping centres, bus stops, botanical gardens and restaurants
