The Stable is a unique 1840s converted stable located in the grounds of Twamley Farm homestead. The Stable is a beautifully renovated two storey sandstone building overlooking the hills of Twamley Farm and nestled under English oaks. The Farm Pod is the latest edition to our accommodation offer at Twamley Farm. The Farm Pod has a modern and eclectic style with a hint of 1960s flare. The Farm Pod is located in the grounds of Twamley Farm homestead with its own private garden and outdoor area featuring one of our trademark fire pots. Ideal for couples and solo adventurers.
Our family has lived and farmed in the Buckland area on the East Coast of Tasmania since the 1840s. We are passionate about historic buildings and allowing others to enjoy the pleasure of these buildings with a modern and contemporary edge. The Storekeeper's Boutique Accommodation, The Stable at Twamley Farm and most recently the Farm Pod are the first of many such properties we hope to offer to visitors in order to experience a unique and authentic visit to Tasmania. We understand the importance of attention to detail, quality and aesthetics in creating an enjoyable and indulgent short break experience. We're also very excited about where our food and wine culture is going in Tasmania and so aim to bring you some of the best of Tasmanian products in your experience at The Storekeeper's, Farm Pod and The Stable. We hope you truly enjoy your stay and discover something a little unique beyond the usual holiday houses and B&B's along our beautiful East Coast of Tasmania.
Twamley Farm is a 7,000 acre working farm on the Tea Tree Rivulet just outside Buckland on the East Coast of Tasmania. The farmland includes a mix of fertile grazing paddocks in the river flat and diverse bushland on the surrounding hills. Twamley Farm was granted to a free settler in 1829 and is one of several historic grazing properties around Buckland and the Prosser Plains area. The farm mainly runs sheep and cattle and also has a small cool climate vineyard. The original sandstone homestead, built in 1842, sits at the top of the valley and is a former home to famous 19th century Tasmanian artist and writer Louisa Anne Meredith. The Turvey family has been running Twamley since 1874, and would be delighted to have you visit and explore.
