You can't get any closer to the water. This extremely well appointed floating house boat is berthed in beautiful Kettering. Use it as a base to explore Bruny Island and the channel. Enjoy a comfy retreat in a magical setting. “We are so happy we stumbled upon this gem” ~ recent guest. Wake up to the gentle swell of the ocean. Fish from your front patio. Meet the local black swans on their rounds. Your floating boat house is strongly tethered to pontoons. You can walk straight onto it from land. Custom built by a master shipwright - one of a kind! An experience unmatched in Tasmania.

Early check-in may be available, depending on bookings. Please ask. Enjoy your stay! This is David's house boat. David owns the office and apartment complex behind. Angelo and Ruth live in the house boat next door and are usually around to answer any questions you may have.

Kettering is a hamlet built around a pretty harbour 30km south of Hobart. There are four cafes, a pub with meals, a post office and shop within a 5 to 10 minute walk. Private parking on site. Infrequent local bus to and from Hobart. Next door to the ferry to Bruny Island. The ferry to Bruny Island is free for passengers without a car.
