Whiskey Gully Cottages are located just 5 minutes south of Stanthorpe and you will find fabulous mountain views; cattle grazing; wonderful gardens and privately-situated, luxury self-contained cottages where you can really get away from it all. They are self-contained with their own kitchen (bench top cooking rings, fridge, microwave, toaster, jug, cutler and crockery). Towels and linen are supplied. The cottages have a CD player with radio, tv, board games, magazines and books. Enjoy farm eggs from our chooks and fresh produce from our vegetable and herb gardens when you purchase our self-catering breakfast basket.
John and Denice escaped the city and moved to Stanthorpe some 20 years ago. They purchased their property and set about renovating it as a tourist destination. John was keen to chase his passion for tasting local wines. There is a neighbouring vineyard which was planted late in 1997, cottages came next in 1998 along with a revamp of the 1880s homestead into a cellar door.
Whiskey Gully Cottages are in the heart of the Granite Belt which is a cool climate grape-growing region just a couple of hours from Brisbane. The soil is granitic and well drained and ideal for premium wine grape production as well as stone fruit, apples and many other crops grown in the area. Relax while you tour the district visiting some of the 50 wineries with cellar doors, restaurants, antiques, national parks for mountain climbing (we have some serious rocks out here!) Enjoy the peace and quiet of a country property. Refresh in a cool mountain stream during summer and in winter stoke your fire and open a bottle of local red.
