The BLOK Wood Cottage weekend facility is based on the idea of ​​a double volume connected through a central garden that becomes both the spatial and symbolic center of the house. This open space allows the penetration of the southern sun and natural ventilation, but at the same time serves as a protective zone of privacy in relation to neighboring buildings, creating a quiet and secluded inner courtyard. In the center of the garden there is a fireplace on the floor that gathers users around warmth and light and a garden planted with Japanese laurel. One volume includes the living room and sleeping platform, while the other contains the kitchen, dining room, toilet and sauna. The two segments are oriented towards each other in a balance of opposites - like plus and minus, open-closed, yin-yang - creating harmony between contrasts.
