The cottage is perfect for six persons. The rural cottage 'Les Petits Tête' was originally an old stable, annex to a farm, dating from 1890. There are some vestiges from this time (pulley, rings for fixing cattle). This character building is built in red bricks, typical of our region. On the ground floor there is a kitchen with dining area, bathroom with toilet and walk-in shower and a lounge with a wood stove, a television and a filled bookcase. There are three spacious bedrooms in a row on the upper floor. In each one, there are two single beds (90x200 cm, which can be pushed together if desired). There is also a wooden cot (60x120) available. Bath towels are not available. Outside there is a private garden. From the living room you have a nice view towards our ornamental garden full of flowers, on the other side of the gite. There is an access to a garage where you can store your bikes. By booking the cottage, you accept the general rules of internal order, available upon request, and in the cottage. The furniture can be modified between booking and arrival depending on possible damage Since January 1, 2026, a tourist tax (1.54e per adult, per night) has been levied by the Province of Hainaut. This tax must be paid upon arrival.

The owners Emilie and Stefan are happy to receive you in English (or French, Dutch or German). As they like themselves walking and cycling in the nature, they can give you good advice.

The hilly village of Grandmetz lies at the foot of the 'Pays des Colines' (land of hills'). Also 'Les Plaines de l'Escaut', a wooded plain is nearby. There are many mapped out walking and cycling routes. A bicycle junction network passes in front of the door. Even the cycle route of Compostella runs through the street. This cottage lies right in the middle of the Walloon Picardy (formerly known as 'Le Tournaisis'). Here are some of the sights of the region: the archeosite in Aubechie, the car museum of Leuze, the beautiful cities of Tournai and Ath. PAIRI DAIZA, the most beautiful animal park in Europe is only 22 km (13 miles, a 20 minutes drive) away. Grandmetz is also an excellent base for visiting the larger cities in Belgium and the north of France such as Lille, Brussels, Bruges, Ghent and Mons. The cottage is at only 3 km of the Railway station of Leuze-en-Hainaut with a direct link to Brussels.
