A quiet place with ample comfort for 4 people, with a private garden for guests. Located on a rural connecting road between Schaffen (Diest) and Paal (Beringen), and right where the two provinces of Flemish Brabant and Limburg meet. With hiking and cycling routes just a few hundred meters away, an ideal base for hikers and cyclists, and for exploring the tourist attractions in the wider area. The house and grounds are non-smoking. We have some grazing animals so unfortunately we cannot accommodate pets from guests.

The vacation home is located on the southern slope of the Hooilandse Berg, a Diestian hill - really a knoll - like several others in this region. You will also find the typical iron sandstone from this region in the garden. In the photos, you can see examples of the walking and cycling routes nearby. The surrounding area therefore connects to the De Merode landscape park, and a variant of the Via Monastica pilgrim's route runs along it. In the beautiful village center of Schaffen, under the windmill, you will find a convenience store, bakeries, and restaurants. Those who like gliding or parachuting can go to our airfield. Our city of Diest has a rich history, beautiful sights, tasty and cozy restaurants, and a beautiful recreation area, De Halve Maan. Our neighbors in Beringen also have beautiful destinations to offer with the Paalse Plas and be-Mine. But the abbey sites of Herkenrode (Hasselt) and Averbode are also within cycling distance. Along the Albert Canal, for example, you can go even further if you want. Its only a 15 minute car drive to the E313-E314 crossing, and so the tourist city centres of Hasselt (25km), Leuven (40km), Maastricht (NL, 50km), Antwerp, Brussels, and Liège (70km) are easily within reach.
