Total Chalets is small, independent chalet company and is owned and managed by Brits Jay and Laura. Laura and Jay bought their first chalet, Chalet Jora, in 2008, after enjoying their first winter season in Bansko. The success of Chalet Jora led them to expand with the addition of Chalet Mila, and Chalet Garibaldi. They also manage bookings for Chalet Hotel Peretol in Andorra which is ski in-ski out. Jay is based in Bansko for the winter, and in the summer he enjoys sailing and kite surfing in Croatia. Laura is kept busy behind the scenes, with the admin side of the business, and she also visits the chalets during the season as much as possible. Together with a small team of carefully trained staff, their aim is to offer guests first class hospitality and accommodation without the expensive price tag of the rest of Europe. Our flagship chalet, Chalet Jora, is ideally located only 150m from the historic old town and main street in Bansko, where there are an abundance of local shops, bars, restaurants and night clubs. The main ski lift is a short walk away, however in winter we provide daily shuttle services in our private minibus. The chalet is an old building which has been renovated to a high standard to offer guests comfort and luxury as well as retaining traditional charming features such as dark wood beams, wooden floors and a beautiful log fire. Creating the perfect atmosphere and environment to relax with a drink and a cake in the spacious lounge after a great day on the slopes. Unlike purpose built ski resorts, Bansko is a charming town with plenty of history. The town and the mountain are World Heritage Sites, protected by UNESCO. Bansko has the best snow record in Bulgaria and the winter season runs from Mid-December to Mid-April. With north facing slopes and 80% snow making coverage, Bansko attracts skiers and snowboarders of all abilities. Bansko offers the best après ski experience of all the Bulgarian ski resorts, it is after all a modern ski village combined with a rustic old town. The fantastic location of our chalets means that you are just a stones throw away from the main street and historic square. There you will find a wide variety of lively mehanas (traditional Bulgarian restaurants), traditional taverns, bars and night clubs. All of our chalets are within easy walking distance of everything you may need, such as the gondola to the ski area, shops, bars/clubs and restaurants. In summer there are many activities and events such as the Jazz Festival, Opera Festival, Sunday Markets, walking, hiking, biking, ATV, paintball, fishing, golf and sunbathing.
