n the 1990s, I founded and built Hotel Ponto de Luz in Joanópolis, São Paulo — a place that continues to welcome many guests with its unique atmosphere and programs. It was a true success. As a psychoanalyst and writer for over 40 years, I’ve had the privilege of being invited to lead groups in various countries such as Germany, Spain, Switzerland, the United States, Mexico, Argentina, and others, as well as in many regions of Brazil — always using nature as an essential ally in my work. Drawing from this extensive experience, I created Espaço Contempla Joanópolis, designed to welcome those who seek to relieve stress, relax, and recharge their vital energy. I work with a growing audience of people who need a quiet and peaceful place. That is exactly what I offer here.

Espaço Contempla Joanópolis is the ideal place to relax, contemplate the beautiful landscape, and connect with the best version of yourself. The scenery is privileged — surrounded by Atlantic Forest, with stunning views of mountains and a lake, providing a deep sense of serenity. We are located in Joanópolis, on a 17,000-square-meter property with a panoramic view of the "Sleeping Giant", a powerful mountain range and one of the city’s main tourist attractions. The entrance avenue to the guesthouse is lined with majestic imperial palms and fruit trees. All buildings are harmoniously integrated with nature. We offer a structure designed for comfort, both in the rooms and in the common areas. Nature here is abundant and ever-present. The rooms feature flat-screen TVs with Claro channels. We have a spacious hall designed for meditation, self-knowledge workshops, and events, as well as a dining area and a swimming pool. There are six units, all equipped with queen-size beds. Three units have air conditioning. Three units accommodate up to 4 people, and three units accommodate up to 3 people. Our maximum capacity is 21 guests. Being immersed in nature, this is the perfect place to release tension, relieve stress, and recharge your vital energy. An ideal retreat for couples, families, and groups. We emphasize that this is a space of silence, connection with nature, and contemplation. It is not a place for parties, loud music, or disorder. We do not offer entertainment or recreational activities for children. We offer an optional program designed to help you reconnect with yourself, including meditation, nature walks, contemplation, numerology, and bonfires — all at no extra cost! A lovingly prepared breakfast is included in the daily rate. For lunch and dinner, we suggest the local restaurants or our own menu, which offers a variety of delicious options to suit all tastes (charged separately).

Espaço Contempla Joanópolis is located in the Terra Preta neighborhood of Joanópolis, São Paulo. This region is known for its many mountains and waterfalls, situated in the Mantiqueira Mountain Range. Our guesthouse sits right in front of the Sleeping Giant, where the sunset is breathtakingly beautiful. Here in Joanópolis, we have the Cachoeira dos Pretos, the largest waterfall in the state of São Paulo, as well as several other beautiful waterfalls perfect for swimming.
