In 2025, David and Katharine Leaman purchased the Inn, fulfilling "a dream come true" to become the next generation of caretakers for this historic building. Plans for future renovations will include the addition of guest cottages to increase guest offerings, all designed to pay respect to this historic landmark throughout the years. With the help our their beloved Maltese/Shih-Tzu "Daisy" as the Inns official greeter - the Leaman family dedicates every opportunity to making their guests' stay at the Harbourview a memorable adventure.

The Harbourview Inn was completed in 1899 and has been receiving summer guests ever since. Guests from Montreal, Toronto, and the Eastern U.S. traveled from near and far to enjoy this upscale tourist resort as a unique and charming summer home. People traveled via steamship from Boston to Yarmouth for 16 hours, then connected to the Dominion Atlantic Railway which stopped within 50 feet of the hotel grounds. Others arrived by way of the Flying Bluenose Express Train from Halifax, Montreal, and Toronto. Todays guest enjoy the same rich history and peaceful splendor of this Inn, mostly unchanged since the original construction over 120 years ago.
