This private suite is situated at the edge of a small city along the banks of an oxbow on the Assiniboine River. The massive picture window in the living room frames a view of the private deck and river that seems to erase the walls of the space and transport the outside in.

My name is Charis. I have worked in the hospitality world for over 20 years. My husband, Chris, has even more experience in hospitality as he grew up in his father's restaurant and owned his own restaurants until 2012. Chris and I live in the home attached to The Ox + Bow with my parents and will quickly respond by Airbnb message if you need anything. You are likely to meet us if you spend time on the yard or in the hot tub, as we love to spend time outdoors. We decided to host on AirBnB because we missed meeting and hosting people. Guests bring so much vibrance and warmth to our world! We offer you a safe haven for renewal, reconnection and exuberant play, infused with the space and water around us. Portage la Prairie is a small city in the Central Plains Region of Manitoba, Canada. The community sits on the Assiniboine River, and is a 15 minute drive to Delta Marsh and Beach on Lake Manitoba. Portage is home to festivals, recreation opportunities, a golf course, sports tournaments, and museums including the Indian Residential School Museum of Canada. Our vacation rental is located about 1 km outside of the city proper on a quiet rural cul-de-sac on the banks of an oxbow of the Assiniboine River. There is no through traffic and the street has access to a myriad of walking and biking trails. Our neighbourhood is located on paved roads with easy access to both the city and the highway. We are fully serviced by delivery services for restaurants as well as taxis.
