Chalet Etoile is our own holiday home in the mountains and as such, it is fully-equipped for a very special holiday. The chalet was fully renovated in 2010 and is furnished with antique furniture, beautiful artwork and top quality china and glassware and kitchen equipment. It is a real home-from-home and we have only ever had rave reviews from our guests, most of whom are now repeat visitors for "their" week each year.
We are an English family with three sons now in their early twenties who fell in love with Grimentz from the moment we first visited in 2009. We bought Chalet Etoile and spent a year renovating it to an extremely high standard. We now spend as much time as we can there - both in the ski season and in the summer for hiking and mountain biking.
Grimentz and Zinal are renowned throughout the world for their fabulous skiing - particularly off-piste skiing. The village is at 1500m and the skiing goes up to 3000m so the area is renowned for being snowsure. There is also lots of snow-making so you will always be guaranteed to have snow to ski during the season. Expert mountain guide, Nick Parks has now moved to Zinal and offers unrivalled adventures through his company Grimentz Zinal Backcountry Adventures. There are also two ski schools in the village. The Val d'Anniviers is still relatively undiscovered so you will never have the sort of crowds and queues found in other resorts. In the summer, there is wonderful hiking (Grimentz is on the Haute Route), mountain biking, golf at Sierre and Crans Montana and paragliding.
