Ideally situated half way between Charmey and the Jaunpass this recently renovated Chalet, dating from 1860, was a story of love at first sight. The calm peaceful and idyllic landscape way from the bustle of every day life, inspired me to create this very cozy and welcoming house for guests. My love for meeting new people, entertaining and cooking for them has given rise to very positive feedback from my guests over the past four years. Individually decorated each of the two rooms has its own identity and ambiance, while offering premium bedding of very high standard and a large bathroom with outside window. Ample storage space for clothing is available in the room, whilst sport equipment may be stored in the cellar. On the groundfloor of the house, level with the spacious seating area of the garden, I have installed a "Carnozet", a sort of wine cellar fully equipped to serve fondue and raclette to a maximum of 6 people. At the same time some very specific Swiss wines from my home region can be tasted.

My love for hosting and catering to a variety of nationalities to welcome them to Switzerland, prompted me, upon retirement, to create this bed & breakfast. I adore this very quiet unique pre-alp region, not too far from a variety of larger cities such as Lausanne, Fribourg and Berne, on the one side and the well loved Bernese Oberland, Thun and Interlaken on the other. My other great passion is cooking and I make a point of serving only home made or locally sourced products for both a very generous continental breakfast, as well as the evening 3 course menu. Dishes are very season-oriented and you will eat nothing "standard" at my table, as each ingredient is chosen by the intuition of the moment and worked together to provide a unique experience for my guests. So far many has been the very positive feedback which let me believe that my unique approach to hosting has left a warm and appreciated mark on my guests.

A calm retreat on the cross county hotspot of Im Fang, with its night tracks, a ten minute drive to both the spa center of Charmey and the multiple ski regions of Jaun and Jaunpass for family skiing. More adventurous guests will find runs of advanced skiing and hiking options in the Bernese Oberland, a mere 30 minute drive from the Chalet. The region of Bulle with its well known Château de Gruyère and pitoresque village draws many a tourist for a relaxing stroll. The tourist information office provides detailed information for all seasonal sporting and cultural activities of the region, including festivals, exhibitions of local crafts and gourmet conventions at the Event hall in Bulle. In the warmer months the region is well appreciated by climbers and hikers as well as mountain bike riders. A great many hiking tours are available for any number of scales of difficulty. One of the main attractions is the Tour of the Gastlosen (called also the Swiss Dolomites). A mere 30 minute stroll along the Jaun River will take you to Jaun village, one of the most authentic remaining villages of the Gruyère Region with all Chalet type houses and two dominant churches, offering a number of cultural events over the season. The Tourist Office can provide up to date maps and suggestions of activities and the local Sport Shop of Marius Mooser will rent the necessary equipment (to a certain extent).
