Company info

Riverside Camp is operated by Chile Nativo Travel, a company with over 25 years of experience in nature and adventure tourism in Chilean Patagonia, known for its deep local knowledge, high-quality travel experiences, and strong commitment to sustainability. Riverside Camp first opened in 2016 at Camping Serrano, within Torres del Paine National Park. From the beginning, the project evolved continuously, introducing improvements such as in-house restaurant management, elevated platforms, and Lotus Belle tents, gradually raising the overall guest experience. Following the pandemic, we made a strategic decision to take the project to the next level. We relocated to the scenic Villa Río Serrano, where Riverside Camp was relaunched with a long-term vision focused on sustainability, comfort, and environmentally responsible design. In this new stage, we introduced private bathrooms, continuous electricity, and central heating in all our tents, ensuring a warm and comfortable stay throughout the year, even in Patagonia’s challenging climate. These features are combined with eco-friendly materials and innovative solutions that help minimize our environmental footprint. The experience is completed with high-quality gastronomy, inspired by Chilean cuisine and local ingredients. Our culinary team focuses on delivering authentic, comforting, and carefully prepared meals that complement the overall journey and sense of place. Today, Riverside Camp continues to grow and refine its offering, aiming to deliver one of the most sustainable, comfortable, and memorable accommodation experiences in Patagonia. Our team brings together local expertise, professional management, and a genuine passion for doing things right. We invite you to join us on this journey and experience Patagonia through a place that evolves, learns, and truly cares for its surroundings.

Property info

Chile Nativo Riverside Camp is more than just a place to stay in Patagonia — it is a conscious way of living within it. Set in one of southern Chile’s most pristine landscapes, our camp was created from a deep belief: high-quality tourism can exist without harming the land that sustains it. Here, sustainability is not a slogan, but a daily practice. We are pioneers in Chile in the use of Eco Wood, developed in partnership with Patagonia Circular. Thanks to this collaboration, Riverside Camp became the first camp in the country built with recycled plastic, rescuing over 28 tons of plastic from landfills and preventing the cutting of more than 100 native trees. All platforms, walkways, viewpoints, and outdoor furniture are made entirely from recycled plastic. This approach reduces CO₂ emissions and saves thousands of liters of water, proving that thoughtful design, durability, and sustainability can coexist. In our kitchen, we apply a Zero Waste Food Preparation system using specialized technology, allowing us to reuse nearly all organic waste and achieve a waste reduction of over 80%. We also exclusively use biodegradable products from the Freemet brand, protecting Patagonia’s rivers and fragile ecosystems. Our commitment to ecotourism is ongoing. We continue moving toward renewable energy solutions and resource optimization, always aiming to minimize our environmental footprint while maintaining comfort and quality. At Riverside Camp, you don’t just stay overnight. You experience Patagonia in a more conscious, authentic, and responsible way.

Neighborhood info

The surroundings of Chile Nativo Riverside Camp are one of the highlights of the experience. Located in Villa Río Serrano, just minutes from the southern entrance of Torres del Paine National Park, the camp offers tranquility, open landscapes, and direct access to some of Patagonia’s most iconic attractions. From here, guests can easily enjoy a wide range of activities and points of interest: One of the most popular excursions is the navigation to Grey Glacier. The journey begins by heading to Hotel Lago Grey, where a catamaran takes visitors through floating icebergs toward the glacier itself. Along the way, guests can enjoy a traditional calafate sour made with glacier ice while admiring breathtaking mountain and glacier views. For trekking enthusiasts, the French Valley is a must. Accessed by crossing Lake Pehoé by catamaran from Pudeto Pier to the Paine Grande area, this hike is renowned for its dramatic rock walls, natural avalanches, and the impressive French Glacier. Nearby, visitors will also find some of the park’s most iconic viewpoints. From the Serrano entrance, it is possible to visit the Cuernos Viewpoint near the Pehoé camping area, offering outstanding views of the Paine Massif and the Cuernos del Paine. Continuing toward Pudeto, guests can explore Salto Grande, a powerful waterfall connecting Lake Nordenskjöld and Lake Pehoé. For more relaxed activities, the area around the camp is ideal for peaceful walks along the Serrano River, scenic bike rides, and enjoying wide-open views of the Paine Massif, making it perfect for families. Guests can also join kayaking excursions on the Serrano River, lake, and Grey River, with half-day paddles that offer a unique perspective of the Patagonian landscape, as well as horseback riding experiences to viewpoints such as Tyndall or Donoso, providing a genuine Patagonian adventure. Fishing enthusiasts can try their luck in designated areas along the Serrano River, always following local regulations.
