JoAnn is from Hong Kong, she had worked in Shanghai for 15 years before settling down in Shenao Village in 2018. She leased this 200-year old house and renovated it into a 9-bedroom bed and breakfast. JoAnn runs the daily operation herself with the help of a housekeeper and 3 local helpers. Since opening in October 2021, JoAnn greets every guest, spends time to chat with them and recommend nearby sight-seeing attractions , to make sure that they feel at home. JoAnn loves taichi and has been practising for almost twenty more years. She would want to welcome taichi practitioners to come and exchange expeiences。

Shen’ao is a village with more than 800 years of history and a population of about 5,000. It was designated a Chinese National Historic Village in 2007. The village is known for its traditional Chinese architecture and the ancient but still effective drainage system built in the Song Dynasty. The building now known as Eight Blessings Inn was originally built more than 200 years ago, in the late Qing Dynasty, and was called Mao De Tang. It was a traditional two-storey home that housed an entire multi-generational family. Our goal in renovating this building was to respect the original architecture while also creating a feeling of simplicity, elegance, and warmth. Eight Blessings Inn aims to create a space in which people can experience a simple, natural, and healthy lifestyle, as well as a shift in pace that allows them to relax, recharge, and rejuvenate.

Tonglu County is known as the most beautiful county in Chinam it was nominated by National Geography Magazine as the only destination in China in 2021. Tonglu has very efficient transport system with two high speed train stations , it is only a matter of 1-2 hours to travel to Hangzhou, Shanghai, Nanjing and Ningbo etc. There are many sight-seeing attractions in the neighboring area; Da Qi Shan Forest Park , Dong Zi Guan Old pier, Longmen Old Town, Yanziling Memorial, Huang Gong Wang Home, OMG Water Park, etc.。
