Almara House is the perfect place to forget the hustle of the city life and reconnect with yourself and nature. It is located on a stunning beach, that forms part of the Utria National Park and has the Jungle behind. It is brand new, finished in July 2023 and is being furnished and decorated at the moment. With a little bit of luck, you can see the Humpback Whales from the balcony of the house. It offers everything you need for a comfortable stay, while you experience the countless activities and unique culture the region has to offer. We will help you with the organization of all the activities you wish to experience during your stay, as well with the transportation service. If you don't want to cook for yourself there is also the option to make use of the food service that is offered at the property, where you can choose from a daily menu.
I am Katharina, a Psychologist and Yoga teacher from Vienna. I have been living in Colombia for the last 7 years and in El Valle since the beginning of the Pandemic. Before I settled here I have been travelling all over the world, I love to meet and share with people from different cultures, languages are a passion of mine. I am very well connected with the local people and also the owners of the hostels and hotels around, i will make sure that you experience El Valle from its most beautiful and authentic side.
The beach itself is perfect, for long walks, jogs, yoga, hikes to the jungle and horseback riding. At the end of the beach there is a nice and cool river which is perfect for swims. Also the turtles hatchery is located there, it is runned by a local family that will teach you about the sea turtles while you can accompany the new born baby turtles on their first way into the Ocean. The beach is part of the National Park Utria where most of the Whale Watching tours take place. It is a 20 minutes walk or 5 minutes bike ride from the the village of el Valle.
