As a structural engineer, I was commissioned by the owner to set up a renovation plan with the aim of thoroughly renovating the monumental building, built in 1938. The property was in a very poor structural condition. The construction work to be carried out consisted mainly of the complete replacement of the roof structure and roof finish, the wooden floors, all windows and doors, all plaster layers, the overhaul of the entire water and electrical installation, the sewerage system and the repainting of the entire building. Given the fact that it was a monumental building, it was not possible to make drastic changes to both the exterior and the layout of the building. After the project was completed after a year and a half, the building remained closed for at least five months because the owner did not have a destination for it. This is where my wife, Normelien and I came up with the idea to rent the property and start a bed and breakfast. Never before did we have the idea of doing something in that direction. It should be noted that we do this now for two years with great pleasure. The building consists of two floors. On the ground floor we have two bedrooms, a common living room and a communal kitchen. A balcony in the front and a garden at the back. The upper floor also has two bedrooms, a common living room, kitchen, front and rear balcony. Each room has its own bathroom and toilet, although not in the room but private.

Given the central location and safe environment of the building, it is ideal to stay here with the advantage that you can reach the most beautiful beaches within 30 minutes by car or public transport during the day, and are back in the city in the evening to enjoy the bustling city life. Most guests leave their car parked in front of the door in the evening and walk to the city.
