Penzion Čekanka was created from a simple idea: to connect honest mountain accommodation with a small eco farm and show our guests that quality and local products are more than just marketing buzzwords. Most of the ingredients you taste here we grow or raise ourselves, or we source them directly from farmers and producers in the immediate surroundings. We live and work in the mountains and raise our children here – the Krkonoše are not just a backdrop for business, they are our home. We are not profit-driven developers or investors from the city who “come up for the season”. We want our work to make sense for the place where we live: we care for the landscape, support the local economy and offer our guests an experience of real mountains, not just a polished version for the cameras.
Strážné is a peaceful mountain village in the Krkonoše Mountains, close to the town of Vrchlabí and popular resorts such as Špindlerův Mlýn. It offers beautiful views, clean mountain air and direct access to hiking and cycling trails in summer, as well as ski slopes and cross-country tracks in winter. Thanks to its quieter atmosphere, Strážné is ideal for guests who want to enjoy nature, outdoor activities and relaxation away from the crowds, while still being within easy driving distance of larger tourist centres, restaurants and services.
