Our lovingly renovated "Alte Schmiede" is a typical Moselle old building in a traffic-calmed location in the centre of the old town. Our 3 flats are elegantly and individually furnished in a modern country house style: Lots of light, high-quality furniture and a large balcony with unbeatable views of the historic city tower, the Grevenburg, the Taubenhaus vineyard, the little castle Sonora and in the maisonette flat even the Moselle. All flats are lovingly and comfortably furnished. The kitchen is complete, induction cooker, dishwasher and oven are a matter of course. All (!) things for daily use are available. We have designed the spacious bathroom in a modern style with large areas of real slate - you can't get more Moselle than that! It doesn't get more romantic than this: you live in the middle of the old town of Trarbach - very quiet, right by the historic town tower with glockenspiel and in the middle of the museum row. To the Moselle 30 m, all restaurants are within walking distance. Enjoy views of the vineyards, the Grevenburg ruins, centuries-old quarry stone walls, Sonora Castle, Villa Böcking or the Moselle (varies depending on the flat). Please note that the apartments are only accessible via stairs. Plenty of space for bicycles in own garage at ground level. Exclusive location in the middle of the museum row. Own underworld cellar in the historic winery, two museums. Admission to the "Time Travel Museum" (also in the "Haus am Stadtturm") is free for our house guests. Visits to our own underworld cellar with cellar museum and wine tasting are available on request (for a fee).

Our "Alte Schmiede"/"Haus am Stadtturm" has a long tradition: built in the mid-18th century, the house first served as an inn and warehouse, later also as a place to stay. People liked to party and dance here, especially at carnival. After many years of careful and extensive renovation, we have once again turned this venerable building into a proud jewel of the Trarbach district. Experience in our wine café, the "time travel museum" in the former ballroom with 50s bar or in one of our comfortable holiday flats that the effort was worth it: The architecture of past times carefully harmonised with the means and technology of our time - that is "tradition lived in a modern way" as we understand it. We, the Rees family, come from the Moselle valley. Many years abroad made us aware of how unique the landscape, its inhabitants (the dialect!), the river and the wine are. We have incorporated many loving details of the "Moselle" into the design of our two houses - you are most welcome!
